If you're up to the challenge, come down to Penguin's every last Thursday of each month for Amateur Night.

You will get five minutes on stage to prove and share your humor! Otherwise grab your friends and come down for a good night of drinks and fun!

If an amateur does not bring at least one guest, he will be charged $10 to perform.

Penguin’s Comedy Club announces the King (or Queen) of Comedy contest!

Penguin’s will be hosting an amateur comedy contest starting on May 29th and running every Thursday in June with the finals on June 26th.  The contest starts at 8:00 each night.  Only the first 14 comics will be allowed to compete with the top two advancing to the finals.  Contest entry fee is $10.00 and tickets are $5.00 and are available by calling 319-362-8133

The grand prize winner will receive a cash prize, and be treated like royalty the following night.  The winner will be allowed to bring 20 of their friends to the next nights show to watch as they perform a guest set, and then sit back and enjoy the comedic stylings of Don Reese.  After the show they will be taken in a Limo to Cabo Sports Bar where they will receive a free royal gathering with their court.

In addition to the prize package above there will be other prizes given to the runner ups.  The winner will also have an opportunity to have another guest set with the Comedian of their choice, and may be asked to come back and emcee for Penguins.
