  • The Midnight Swinger
September 20, 2014 at 7:30 PM The Midnight Swinger

    The Midnight Swinger

Call him cocky, call him confident, but never call him dull. The Midnight Swinger erupts onto the stage like the volcano in front of the Mirage Hotel in a fresh and original, over the top event that has been called "sharp-witted," "clever" and "classy."

Putting the show back in showman, The Midnight Swinger combines the style and cool of a 60's Las Vegas performer with the flash and excitement of a 21st century Super Bowl halftime extravaganza.

More than just a stand-up comedian, the Midnight Swinger is proud to be called a throwback entertainer. That's right, an entertainer! The Swinger believes in more than just standing behind the microphone and telling jokes, and doing more than just a simple "comedy show." The Midnight Swinger puts on a spectacle that leaves the audience LAUGHIN', SINGIN' and SWINGIN'.

The Swinger always wears the sharpest threads no matter where he is performing, and stylin' and profilin' with an oversized pompadour. The Swinger will be the first to tell you, "Damn, I Look Good," his battle cry before, during and after every show.

The never subtle or soft spoken Midnight Swinger heats up the room as he puts on a classic Las Vegas style show filled with great comedy, music, singing and dancing. And when the show is over you will walkout with a smile on your face yelling DAMN, I LOOK GOOD

  • Pete George
October 17, 2014 at 7:30 PM Pete George
When Comedian Pete George begins his stand up act, this quirky, nervous, mild-mannered man with spectacles suddenly becomes a spectacle.
Audiences have never seen anything like an exhaustingly funny Pete George performance. As he pinballs through his act, he leaves them laughing so hard they can barely catch their breath. His stage antics take us on a journey that includes hard hitting jokes, life stories, cartoon voices and even… yes, Rock and Roll. Mark Stuplin at E! Entertainment Television says, “Pete George is Spastically Funny!” and according to Las Vegas booker Kevin Kearney, “Pete George, in a word...Hilarious! He really is the complete comedy package that you simply must see to believe.”
Perhaps this energizer bunny began developing his off-centered and out-of-step approach to life when he was teased as a child, mistakenly labeled learning disabled and placed in special classes. Just minutes into Pete’s act he leads us to believe that maybe it wasn’t a mistake after all.
Pete got his start in show business as a lead guitarist in a Cleveland based 80’s rock group. “We wanted to be like the band A Flock of Seagulls, so we called ourselves A Peck of Peckers.” Discovering that being funny was his calling, Pete ventured into comedy competitions and a quick string of wins set off a 20-year career that has included over 7,000 shows at a multitude of venues and corporate events, touring the world, headlining comedy clubs, cruise ships, colleges, military shows and special events. “One time I even opened for the Australian Male Stripper Show Thunder From Down Under”, George remembers… “I thought it was a seminar on Irritable Bowel Syndrome.”
No slouch as an actor, Pete has appeared in several major motions pictures, including The Shawshank Redemption and The Majestic as well as appearances on Family Law, Strong Medicine, Night Shift, Comedy at Club 54, Now That’s Comedy and several national commercials.
Music is an integral part of George’s act and he is an accomplished musician. He likes to call himself the “Rock Star of Comedy” but one look at him and we see that he’s anything but…. Stay tuned for an upcoming television show in development based on Pete’s crazy life and be sure to catch his hilarious comedy CD, Comedy You Can Dance To.

  • April Macie
October 24, 2014 at 7:30 PM April Macie
Remember the girl in your highschool who had a horrible rumor spread about her? It might have involved a football team, a dog and some peanut butter or processed meat. Well, that girl in Easton, Pennsylvania was April Macie. So, where did she turn for comfort? Not to her family... cause' they're all crazy. Crazy or drunk... oh yeah, or slightly retarded. So, where do you go when you're an outcast in school and your family tree is rotten? While some might sit rocking in the fetal position... slowly humming Copa CopaCabbana, others might turn to the lord and April turned to promiscuity. Promiscuity and then comedy. With her irreverent brand of overtly sexual humor she attempts to break down double-standards and lend her voice to sexually dissatisfied women everywhere. April would like to add that she doesn't really know what irreverent means, but she's heard a lot of other comics use it and thought it sounded kinda' cool. "Her comedy is searingly honest," said this guy she knows from working at Hooter's who came to see her show one time. Although she has only been doing comedy for a short period of time, she has been using comedy as a defense her entire life. She loves to perform and her favorite role to play is victim. For April, comedy isn't a career, comedy isn't even a choice. Comedy is a calling!! She totally stole that quote from Bernie Mac... but it's soooo great and she truly believes it is her calling. April also loves to talk about herself in the third person and thinks "bios" are retarded.

Brow went to college, became a standup comic, and eventually toured 49 states and 4 continents with his guitar in hand.  His original standup comedy instantly won over young and old fans alike.  Almost immediately, J.R. marched to the finals of the San Francisco Comedy Competition.  He has opened for performers like Dana Carvey, Ray Romano, Bill Hicks, and Steven Wright. He's recently been featured on Comedy Central's "Live at Gotham" and CBS’s "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" as well as many other television spots along the way.

Like the rarest of breeds, J.R. electrifies audiences with his high energy storytelling and spot-on mimicry.  When his guitar comes into the act, the originality peaks with his unique musical prowess.  Brow's comedy can be heard on his current CD, "Dumber By The Decade" and read in his upcoming memoir, "The Ancient Greeks Had Nothing On Me."

J.R. lives in Austin, travels forty-plus weeks a year, and is constantly writing new bits.  In his free time, he collects Japanese guitars and rare vinyl records

November 14, 2014 at 7:30 PM Greg Hahn
From Corporate Employee to Corporate Entertainer!

A favorite on the nationally syndicated Bob and Tom Radio Show. He has appeared on Late Night with Conan Obrien, Comedy Central, CBS, ABC, FOX, MTV and CMT.

Greg Hahn has parlayed his absurdly energetic, all out style of physical humor, one liners and crowd work, into a performance of immediate pandemonium and crazy fun. His wild, likable stylings have led to numerous television, corporate and theater appearances throughout the country and Canada.

Developmentally arrested, Greg was raised in South Florida where in high school he amused the Catholic nuns by poking holes in his pockets enabling pens and pencils to shoot out of his pant leg.

As a college basketball player, his enjoyment of half court shots earned him a prime spot on the bench.

As a Captain in the Marines Corps, Greg kept his men highly motivated and could not overemphasize that camouflage is continuous.

While a buyer for Lockheed Corporation, he thought “Why make $200 a day, when I can be a comedian and make that in a week.”

After several serious jobs where he refused to be serious, Greg turned pro as a stand up comedian and landed the unique gig as emcee for a theme park lumberjack show. This supplied him with a microphone, four huge audiences a day, drunk ax swinging lumberjacks, and a log rolling dog.

Soon afterwards, he worked as stuntman in the Wild Wild Wild West Stunt Show at Universal Studios. “For $20 an hour I’d run out, fall down a few times, then get whacked in the head with a stick…dream job!”

He continually honed his style of comedy then headed to New York City.

While in New York, Greg developed into a touring headliner and costarred in the independent film Tomorrow Night which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. Then, after successful shows at the Montreal and Chicago Comedy Festivals, Greg enjoyed hit television appearances on Late Night with Conan O’Brien (NBC), Premium Blend (Comedy Central), Make Me Laugh (5 episodes, Comedy Central), Louis CK’s Pulp Comics (Comedy Central), 30 Seconds to Fame (Fox), Cedric the Entertainer Presents (Fox) and Star Search (CBS).

When appearing on Star Search, Greg was spotted by Tom Griswold of the nationally syndicated Bob & Tom Radio Show. Greg has since established himself as a favorite guest on the show and starred on the Bob @ Tom Comedy Central Special. He also headlines the Friends of The Bob @ Tom Theater Tour, which included a stop at the Las Vegas Comedy Festival.

A return appearance to the Montreal Comedy Festival along with the Halifax Comedy Festival and appearances on Country Music Television’s “Comedy Stage”, “Comics Unleashed with Byron Allen”  and being tasered on “TOSH.O” (Comedy Central) have also added to Greg’s popularity across the country.

Continuing to advance his career in film and television, Greg now lives in Los Angeles where in between shows, he goes ballistic on the drums, destroys his pathetic fellow comics in ping pong, and flies indoor helicopters into the ceiling fan.

  • Emo Philips & Tim Cavanagh
November 21, 2014 at 7:30 PM Emo Philips & Tim Cavanagh
    Emo Philips
Described by Jay Leno as "the best joke writer in America," and considered by many, including "Weird Al" Yankovic, as one of the funniest people on the planet, Emo Philips has performed over 6000 times throughout the English-speaking world (including a multi-week run at the Playhouse Theater in London's West End). Since starting out, at the age of twenty, in Chicago in 1976, Emo has had award-winning comedy albums, several cable specials (including an hour-long one on HBO), and many appearances on network television, in both America and the UK. He has appeared in films (most notably, as the table-saw demonstrator in UHF) and has lent his distinctive voice to animated TV shows (such as Doctor Katz and Home Movies), but his first love, stand-up, remains his true one.

    Tim Cavanagh
Since leaving the classroom, Tim Cavanagh has brought his comedic songs and inventive stand-up to concert halls, corporations, college campuses and nightclubs across America. Over the years, he has also made several trips to Canada, where he has to convert all his jokes to Celsius and his one degree in philosophy becomes a bone-chilling minus 31. He has even performed on the island of St. Lucia, his first time ever doing comedy in the Atlantic Standard time zone, where they got his jokes one hour sooner than they would have in New York.

Early on, it was Tim's funny songs that got a lot of attention. His song, "I Wanna Kiss Her (But She Won't Let Me)," was the first of Tim's pieces to receive national radio exposure, on the legendary "Dr. Demento" show. Other songs followed, including "99 Dead Baboons," "Get Drunk with Dignity," and "Really Safe Sex." His funny music has been heard on radio stations everywhere, as well as on XM Satellite and even the BBC.

In 1997, Tim released his first CD, "Sounds Like Fun!" By then he had become a regular guest on "The Bob & Tom Show," a nationally syndicated radio show now heard in 150 markets. For two years, Tim did a weekly segment on the show called "The One Minute Song," which spawned two more CDs released on Tim's own label, Hits & Giggles Records. At a recent Hits & Giggles awards dinner, Tim was recognized by the label as their "Best Artist," an award he has won three out of the last four years. Even though he is the only act on the roster, a misty-eyed Cavanagh was quoted as saying, "It's still a big thrill."

As for television, Tim has not only appeared on Comedy Central, he was chosen by the network to do several live performances for their clients and customers. His national appearances on ABC-TV, Showtime, WGN, and Comcast have helped Tim deal with his biggest TV disappointment--calling QVC seconds too late to get a great deal on a colander set.

The book, The Complete Idiot's Guide to Jokes, features a half-page of Tim's advice on "How Not to Introduce a Joke," as well as other select jokes. And just to clear up a rumor: if you look up "gullible" in the dictionary, you will NOT find a picture of Tim. He's checked. Tim's book, Chicken Soup for the Vegetarian Soul, just went through its sixth printing. Cavanagh firmly believes in printing them "one at a time."

Anything from anecdotes of family members, playing out the roles of the good ol’ boys, to the impressions of familiar household names, Tony is the cutting edge of comedy. • Mark Poolos
December 31, 2014 at 7:30 PM Mark Poolos
Mark Poolos was born and raised in Edina, Minnesota. To start his career he co-starred in two independent films "Attack of the Killer Snow Cone Zombies" and "Joanie Loves Furbies". After his performances in those two films there wasn't a person who didn't know his name. He did more films, some commercials and some theater but it wasn't enough. Mark needed that instant connection. So he began his stand-up comedy career. In Marks comedy routine he melds observational humor, one liners, family humor, and humorous original songs with guitar accompaniment together, to create his own unique style of comedy. He has been compared to the likes of Adam Sandler and Louie Anderson. Mark is a true road dog, performing in 40 states including Nevada, California, and New York. Mark hopes to do a film in the future people have actually seen.
