Penguins Comedy Club located inside The Vault presents Vakov Smirnoff.
Thursday March 21st For Two Shows 7:00 PM and 9:00 PM.

Yakov's comedic style is firmly grounded within his mission statement "to experience happiness and teach it with passion through comedy and sensitivity". Nowhere are these principles more evident than in his two children, Natasha and Alexander. Yakov continues to develop his comedy to reflect the dynamics between men and women, the happiness that can be found inside oneself, and a celebration of the spirit of life. The depths of Yakov's development from naive young immigrant to gentle, loving patriot can be found throughout his show. When Branson's Two-Time Comedian of the Year isn't performing for sold out shows at his own theater in the heartland of America, Yakov likes to travel and appears at select venues across the United States.

Yakov’s movie credits include “Moscow on the Hudson” with Robin Williams, “Brewster’s Millions” with Richard Pryor, “The Money Pit” with Tom Hanks and “Heartburn” with Jack Nicholson and Meryl Streep. His many television credits include Showtime’s ACE Award nominee “Yakov Smirnoff from Moscow…Idaho,” as well as his own 1986 syndicated series “What a Country.” In the early months of 2003, Yakov appeared in his one-man Broadway Show, “As Long As We Both Shall Laugh” at the American Airlines Theatre in New York City. During the show Yakov invites everyone to celebrate the differences between the genders.

It has been quite a journey for the man who became an American citizen on July 4, 1986, when he was sworn in (by Chief Justice Warren Burger) at the Statue of Liberty. The immigrant who, in 1977, landed in this country with his parents and less than $100 in his pocket has grown to become a command performer at the White House, a respected comedic voice, cultural observer, and family man. As Yakov says, “What A Country”! Since his rebirth in the United States, the comedian maintains his topical edge, traveling the world of comedy, and sharing his insightful discoveries.

  • Dave Landau
July 21, 2017 at 8:00 PM Dave Landau

Working the road nonstop since his 21st birthday, Dave Landau has grown into a true comedic juggernaut. Finding himself much in-demand among audiences and club owners due to his deadpan demeanor and those jokes — my God, those jokes — that fluidly fly forth with breakneck pacing and perfect timing. Dave, it can be said with all due respect, is a throwback to another era of comedy. The entertaining everyman. Innocent enough at first blush; as he states his case, you begin to see where you and he have quite a bit in common. A wife, a house. An odd sense of calm in an increasingly crazy world. You’re on a tour of the familiar and prosaic, with Dave Landau as the bus driver.

Then he drops his foot on the accelerator. And things start to get wild. You see, Dave Landau might appear to be just like you, but he’s not really. His mind goes to places that angels would fear to tread, and he has no problem telling you about it. The mark of a great comedian, it is said, is the ability to find jokes where others would find tears. Dave find jokes everywhere; with his own foibles and faults, to his family, to pop culture and the state of the world today.

Cutting his comedic teeth as a teenager in Detroit in the Second City’s Conservatory, Dave Landau has risen to become one of the most in-demand headliners working today. He’s appeared on Comedy Central’s “Live At Gotham” and was a finalist on season 8 of “Last Comic Standing.” He’s become a regular on the nationally-syndicated “Bob & Tom” radio show, and was honored as one of the top 21 club comics of today at HBO’s Las Vegas Comedy Festival.

  • Christine Stedman
July 28, 2017 at 8:00 PM Christine Stedman
Christine can best be described as one funny mother!   She has a husband, a twenty-something son who lives athome, a divorced daughter and three grand-kids.This  gives her a full portfolio of material to draw from. A lot of people ask Chris why she began a career incomedy so late in life.Well, it’s not a coincidence that she started immediately after her daughter began having babies! Chris does not like to baby-sit!Sure, traveling around the country telling jokes to drunks in smoky nightclubs was not the most practicalway to get out of baby-sitting, but she decided it was definitely worth a try. (It was either that, or go to truck-driving school and she hates the way she looks in flannel shirts! )So far, this desperate attempt to distance herself from family obligations has worked out quite nicely. She’s come a long way from her early years in comedy.

She currently headlines in some of the top clubs in the country and has become a favorite at “The Comedy Stop” in Las Vegasand Atlantic City. In 2006, she was chosen to compete in Nick at Nite’s Search for the Funniest Mom inAmerica. She appeared in six episodes and made it all the way to the finale where it came down to only 5 finalists.Ok, she didn’t win----but just ask anyone who has seen her perform and they will tell you that she is definitely one funny mother!
