Who is Mike Mercury?

Mike Mercury is a professional stand-up comedian and writer who has been involved in the performing arts in one form or another since he was 8 years old.

At the tender age of 10 he wrote and directed his school Christmas play; a rather grim tale about Santa Claus being hijacked on an airplane and the subsequent cancellation of that joyous holiday. It was later made into a movie of the week.

In seventh grade he won his middle schools' coveted "Actor Of The Year" award for his work in several stage productions, upsetting the heavily favored eighth grader, Eugene Finkelman, who went on to become the manager of a local Wal-Mart.

In High School, shunned by a narrow-minded and elitist theater department, Mike concentrated on music, drums and percussion in band and the kazoo in the back row of geometry class. In his senior year, he got an "F" in bowling because it was spring, he was in love and he never showed up. This, too, was later made into a movie of the week.

After High School, Mike attended college and became a star in the community theater scene. He gave commanding performances in everything from serious dramas to high comedy to musical operettas. In 1983, armed with just his sizzling array of talents and his wealth of experience (and about $180 in his pocket) he headed west to Los Angeles to pursue his lifelong dream of becoming a MOVIE STAR!

That didn't happen. He did, however, accomplish many notable things. He joined an improvisational training and performance group called "L.A. Connection." After a year with them he formed his own Improv group , "High Adventure." After passing an audition for Mitzi Shore at the world renowned Comedy Store, they quickly became a favorite act there, appearing weekly (and sometimes weakly) opening for Louie Anderson, Robin Williams, Roseanne, Sam Kinison, and Andrew "Dice" Clay, just to namedrop a few.

In the spring of 1988 the Writer's strike virtually shut down the entire industry and Mike was laid off at his job as a Production Assistant from the not-even-close-to-being-a-hit Disney show, "Videopolis." Broke, bitter and craving cheese, Mike returned home to America's Dairyland.

He was welcomed home with open arms. (Mostly small caliber handguns). In fact, he was quickly asked to play the lead in a production of an original political satire called "Election Rejection: How I Flunked Out of the Electoral College" which was produced at the renowned "Ark" theater. After a successful run in which critics and audiences alike raved about his performance (some were heard saying, "He should go back to L.A.") he was hired as a permanent act at the Piccadilly Comedy Pub. It was there that he finally put all his talents to use in what has now become the show that it is today; "Hilarious, Dynamic and totally entertaining!" Wisconsin State Journal

Mike quickly became an audience favorite and a headliner at comedy clubs all across America. Now working primarily in the Corporate market, his likable persona, quick wit, and clean and clever observational material, make him a much-sought-after performer.

Toss in some customized joke writing specifically for your company and you've got the makings of "One very memorable evening". Milwaukee Journal

"Mike Mercury delivers great material AND plays off an audience as well as anybody we've ever seen. What a character! He is Jay Leno, Eddie Haskell and Dennis the Menace all at once." Chicago Tribune

  • Doug T Hypnotist
    August 12, 2016 at 8:00 PM Doug T Hypnotist

After touring as a stand up comic for years Doug wanted a new way to create a better show and entertain more people. That is when he started studying hypnosis and all different types of ways to hypnotize people.   Doug wanted to take Comedy Hypnosis to the next level by creating a show that is different from all of the rest. He adds in his quick wit and spot on impressions to make the show fun from beginning to end. His comedy background is a large part of this ability. He has toured and still tours with some of the big names in comedy. Some of the names include Pauly Shore, The Impractical Jokers from TruTV, Jennifer Coolidge (Stifler's Mom), Tim Wilson, Greg Hahn, MIke MacRae, and many more.....

Working in some of the greatest theaters around the country has put him in front of thousands of people.  He also keeps his shows family friendly due to the large amount of corporate events and Colleges he works with. When asked about if volunteers on his show should be worried about coming on stage his response was simply " I treat the volunteers on stage the way I would want my wife and daughters treated, with respect and dignity! "  That is why Doug has become one of the most requested in the nation for corporate events, Colleges and High Schools.  ESPN selected him to be a Bowl Game entertainer for teams at the Compass Bowl in Birmingham, AL.  Finding a way to make people forget about the stresses of life and laugh through his 75 to 90 minute show is what DougT lives for......

  • Dwight York
August 19, 2016 at 8:00 PM Dwight York

“I hope you like jokes” may seem an absurd way for a comedian to begin a show but those are the words that comedian Dwight York uses to introduce himself to his audience each night. Then the joke-slinging begins and never ends until York says “goodnight” a couple hundred perfect one-liners later.

Dwight York performs at many of the nation’s top comedy clubs and every summer headlines the Buffalo Chip Comedy Club at the annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. He has appeared at the Great American Comedy Festival, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and was a two-time finalist in the San Francisco International Comedy Contest. In October of 2014, he placed 2nd at the Laughlin Laugh Fest.

York has also been a favorite guest on the nationally syndicated The Bob and Tom Show and was featured on their CD, You Guys Rock. York’s CD Quickies (Stand Up! Records) can be heard on Sirius XM Satellite Radio’s Raw Dog Comedy Channel and was rated a “top ten comedy release of the year” by The Serious Comedy Site. Laffspin Magazine says that Dwight York, as inventive as he is suggestive, is what Steven Wright would be if Wright had Robert Schimmel’s blue streak, and that’s a  compliment to all three master comics.
