Penguins Comedy Club located inside The Vault presents Tom Garland
For one Show July 11th
Show time 7:30 PM
Growing up across the street from a cornfield in Iowa couldn’t stop Garland from becoming "one of the country's best young professional comics…"(TravelIowa.Com). In fact, it didn't hold the Cedar Rapids native back the slightest bit. Garland has had his stand-up featured on MTV.com and recently worked over 12 shows on the Las Vegas Strip as the sole Opening Act for Steve-O & Tom Green's "Icons of Comedy: Original Pranksters Tour" at the legendary Starlite Theater in The Riviera Hotel & Casino, all before the age of 25. Garland has also been featured on SiriusXM, iHeartRadio, AmericasComedy.com and has two live albums in rotation on Spotify and Pandora Comedy Radio. His most recent album, "Unleashed" was recorded live here at The Vault and features an Introduction from Andy Milonakis. From college students, to small town families, to late-show drunks, Garland can adapt to any audience and deliver with an unsurpassed energy. There's nothing Garland can't handle being thrown his way, so come see why audiences everywhere are getting behind Tom Garland (and ducking for cover)!
“I hope you like jokes” may seem an absurd way for a comedian to begin a show but those are the words that comedian Dwight York uses to introduce himself to his audience each night. Then the joke-slinging begins and never ends until York says “goodnight” a couple hundred perfect one-liners later.
Dwight York performs at many of the nation’s top comedy clubs and every summer headlines the Buffalo Chip Comedy Club at the annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. He has appeared at the Great American Comedy Festival, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and was a two-time finalist in the San Francisco International Comedy Contest. In October of 2014, he placed 2nd at the Laughlin Laugh Fest.
York has also been a favorite guest on the nationally syndicated The Bob and Tom Show and was featured on their CD, You Guys Rock. York’s CD Quickies (Stand Up! Records) can be heard on Sirius XM Satellite Radio’s Raw Dog Comedy Channel and was rated a “top ten comedy release of the year” by The Serious Comedy Site. Laffspin Magazine says that Dwight York, as inventive as he is suggestive, is what Steven Wright would be if Wright had Robert Schimmel’s blue streak, and that’s a compliment to all three master comics.
Travis Howze is an internationally touring comedian and motivational speaker who spent 14 years in the military and emergency services as a U.S. Marine, Police Officer and Firefighter. Whether performing at corporate events and fundraisers to top comedy clubs, colleges and multiple tours overseas for our troops, Travis has become a comedic demand in multiple arena’s and always leaves his audiences craving more!
Known as the military and emergency services voice of comedy, the topics of Travis’ humor are limitless: from being raised in South Carolina to married life and fatherhood to his time in uniform and much more. Whether dodging bullets, chasing bad guys, or running into burning buildings, Travis is always FUNNY UNDER FIRE!
Brett Erickson is a comedian based in Los Angeles, CA. As host of one of L.A.'s most popular weekly shows, Punch at the Pikey, Brett tackles the week's news with a bold and brash, tell-it-like-it-is style. Combining a razor-sharp wit with a lovably acerbic tongue, Brett takes on topics most comics are too afraid to go near. If you like your comedy in the tradition of Stanhope and Hicks, you'll love Brett.
