November 5th at 7:30 PM and November 16th at 7:30 PM and 10:00 PM
This is a Special Event

Jimmy Pardo is as funny talking to a stranger in an elevator as he is talking to a crowd from the comic stage. That's because everything he observes or thinks, he immediately scans to find the funny. And he always finds the funny. After Jimmy was told for like the thousandth time that he was even funnier offstage than he was onstage, he dropped most of the jokes from his act. Now he spends nearly his entire set interacting with, and making fun of, his audience. And they love it.

Jimmy stands at the very center of the comedy world. That's not only because he's the ultimate "comic's comic," (as he's often called), but also because he represents where comedy is going, and everybody wants to come along.

Jimmy's raucous-but-smart weekly podcast, "Never Not Funny," has revolutionized the way comedians use the internet to connect with their audiences. It's the No. 2 paid podcast hosted by a comedian, after Ricky Gervais's. His guest list reads like a Who's Who of comedy: Conan O'Brien, Ricard Lewis, Patton Oswalt, and Sarah Silverman have all been guests. Actors Jon Hamm, Ty Burrell and Craig Bierko have appeared on several of the funniest episodes.

"Never Not Funny" was voted by both iTunes and USA Today as one of the top podcasts of 2006 and 2007. It was an Editor's Pick in the September 2009 issue of Esquire magazine. In 2010, GQ magazine called the show "The Number 1 Relatively Obscure Thing You Need to Be Paying Attention To." The show, which started in Jimmy's dining room in 2006, now regularly hits the road with live tapings at festivals like SF Sketchfest, MaxFunCon, the Vancouver Comedy Festival and Bumbershoot. Every year, Jimmy and Co. present the "Pardcast-A-Thon," taping for up to 12 hours to raise money for The Smile Train.

Besides the podcast, Jimmy continues to headline at some of America's top comedy clubs and currently works as Conan O'Brien's opening act on "Conan," getting the studio audience into a laughing mood before the show tapes (he did the same for Conan on "The Tonight Show"). In addition to providing content for Teamcoco.com and appearing on the show in sketches or as a frequent guest, Jimmy recently filled in for as Conan's sidekick for several shows.

A true multimedia talent, Jimmy has frequently appeared on television and in movies. He has performed on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" and "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson." He had his own half-hour special, "Comedy Central Presents Jimmy Pardo." He hosted "National Lampoon's Funny Money" on the Game Show Network, and was the co-host of AMC's "Movies at Our House" for four seasons. He has hosted episodes of VH1's "The Surreal Life" and "Love Lounge" and NBC's "Late Friday." He's appeared on popular shows such as "Monk," "That 70s Show," and "Becker." And he has acted in independent films such as "Relative Strangers" and "The Godfather of Green Bay."

He has recorded three comedy albums, "Uno," "Pompous Clown" and the soon to be released "Sprezzatura."

OTHER GREAT SHOWS!

  • Nathan Timmel
February 17, 2017 at 8:00 PM Nathan Timmel

Nathan Timmel is a 15-year comedy veteran who has headlined comedy clubs across the country, recorded several comedy CDs (with regular airplay on Sirius/XM), visited the Bob & Tom Show three times, and been overseas to perform for American troops nine times—including stops in Iraq and Afghanistan.

With a set that’s well-crafted, clever, and genuine, Nathan’s act is a mix of high-brow thinkers and accessible straight-ahead jokes. He keeps audiences on their toes, transitioning seamlessly from loving husband and father to gritty analyst of politics and human nature. He finds humor in everything, from making babies to overcrowded prisons, creating comedy that’s intelligent, fun, and engaging with a sprinkling of raucousness.  A talented storyteller, he builds on real-life anecdotes that draw you in before hitting you with the punch line you didn’t see coming. He’s not afraid of using his own life, from his oddball father to his diva toddler, to get you laughing. By the end of his set, he’ll leave you wanting more jokes (and his Twitter handle).

  • Tim Meadows
March 10, 2017 at 8:00 PM Tim Meadows
Meadows began performing improvisational comedy at the Soup Kitchen Saloon. Meadows’ start in show business was as a member of The Second City comedy troupe alongside future star Chris Farley. In 1991, Meadows landed a spot on Saturday Night Live and would go on to become a longtime cast member, appearing on the program until 2000. (This was the record for the longest tenure on the show until it was surpassed by Darrell Hammond in 2005.) Meadows’ lengthy tenure on the show was used as a gag in three monologues when former cast members Phil Hartman and Mike Myers returned to the show to host, and when Alec Baldwin hosted for his twelfth time.

Meadows often spoofed famous personalities including O.J. Simpson, Michael Jackson, Tiger Woods, Oprah Winfrey and Erykah Badu on SNL, and one time remarked that he had no character that was identified to him, such as Wayne and Garth being identified to Mike Myers and Dana Carvey. Eventually he did get an original character with Leon Phelps, “The Ladies’ Man”, a perpetually horny talk show host who believed himself to be the living definition of what females search for in a man. The sketch/character was adapted into a 2000 film, The Ladies Man, which followed the character’s attempts to find love and a suitable outlet for his beloved radio program.

Meadows soon moved on to other projects, including a regular role on the short-lived NBC sitcom The Michael Richards Show and a supporting role in the 2004 film The Cookout. He also guest starred as a client on the hit NBC comedy The Office in the second-season episode “The Client”. He played a high school principal in Mean Girls, a film written by (and co-starring) fellow SNL cast member Tina Fey. He also had a part in Handsome Boy Modeling School’s album White People. In 2007, he appeared in a large supporting role in Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story.

Meadows has appeared in other feature films, including Coneheads, It’s Pat, and Wayne’s World 2, all of which were based on popular SNL characters and had varying rates of success. Most recently he was in the 2006 film The Benchwarmers alongside his former SNL co-stars Rob Schneider and David Spade. He was also featured in CBS’sGameshow Marathon (summer 2006), has appeared on The Colbert Report in the recurring role of P.K. Winsome (who made an appearance at the Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear), and starred in The Bill Engvall Show. He is also a frequent guest on the The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson as a comic field reporter. On May 31, 2008, Meadows threw out a ceremonial first pitch and conducted the seventh-inning stretch at Wrigley Field during a Chicago Cubs game against the Colorado Rockies.

Meadows can frequently be seen performing live at the iO WEST with Heather Campbell and Miles Stroth in their improvised show Heather, Miles, and Tim. Recently, Meadows has been back performing in the Chicago improv scene at the ImprovOlympic and other venues.
