J.R. Brow went to college, became a standup comic, and eventually toured 49 states and 4 continents with his guitar in hand.  His original standup comedy instantly won over young and old fans alike.  Almost immediately, J.R. marched to the finals of the San Francisco Comedy Competition.  He has opened for performers like Dana Carvey, Ray Romano, Bill Hicks, and Steven Wright. He's recently been featured on Comedy Central's "Live at Gotham" and CBS’s "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" as well as many other television spots along the way.

Like the rarest of breeds, J.R. electrifies audiences with his high energy storytelling and spot-on mimicry.  When his guitar comes into the act, the originality peaks with his unique musical prowess.  Brow's comedy can be heard on his current CD, "Dumber By The Decade" and read in his upcoming memoir, "The Ancient Greeks Had Nothing On Me."

J.R. lives in Austin, travels forty-plus weeks a year, and is constantly writing new bits.  In his free time, he collects Japanese guitars and rare vinyl records.

  • Kevin McCaffrey featuring Ken
September 05, 2014 at 7:30 PM Kevin McCaffrey featuring Ken
    About Kevin McCaffrey
Kevin McCaffrey is a comedian & writer based out of New York City. He made his network TV debut on The Late Show with David Letterman in November of 2013, and he currently appears every week on "truTV Presents: World's Dumbest". In the summer of 2014 he'll appear on VH1's "I Love the 2000's" series. He also previously appeared on History Channel's "I Love the 1880's". Kevin hosts College Stories with Kevin McCaffrey, a weekly podcast talking to comics, writers, and actors about their time in college, and their best/funniest/craziest stories from that time.
Originally from Chicago, he graduated from Ball State University despite the school’s general policy of taking attendance. Since then he has been a contributing monologue writer for The Late Show with David Letterman. Kevin has also appeared on The Late Show many times as an actor, once being hosed down by Dave with a fire extinguisher. To his knowledge, this is an honor Kevin shares only with Richard Simmons.
When asked to describe his exceedingly unique brand of comedy, Kevin says “What I do, is I try to say stuff that’s funny.” That’s how avant-garde he is! As a performer, he relies on content more than volume; he’s not the crazy props guy, the crazy angry guy, or the crazy fat guy. At least not yet. He's mostly a storyteller.
Kevin has also written for VH1, National Lampoon, Fuse TV, and various celebrities who want something kind of funny to say at awards shows. He hosts Technically Tomorrow, a late night/early morning talk show on Queens Public TV in New York, that can also be seen on vimeo.com. He writes and performs sketches with Vicarious George, some of whose videos can be seen on funnyordie.com.
Here's what the critics AREN'T saying about Kevin McCaffrey!
"Frisky and irreverent" - New York Times book critic Michiko Kakutani, about Zadie Smith
"Mastery of both material and form" - The Guardian art critic Florence Waters, about Nasreen Mohamedi's "Untitled," at Tate Liverpool
"It is filled with innocence, hope, and good cheer. It is also wickedly funny and exciting as hell." - Roger Ebert, about E.T.
    ACTUAL PRESS:
"Kevin McCaffrey is a name you should know." -Pioneer Press (Evanston, IL)
"McCaffrey's set will go beyond monologue one-liners, but expect the same sort of laid-back persona of a late night talk show host." -NewCity Stage (Chicago, IL)
"...a great guy, very friendly, extremely funny..." -Chicagonow.com
"My number one favorite is Kevin McCarthy. He is really cute and funny and he never fails to make me laugh." -Dux411, a nice message board commenter who kind of knows Kevin's name.

as The Boston Herald noted “winning by the largest margin of victory in the

    history of the event.”

  • Christine Stedman
September 13, 2014 at 7:30 PM Christine Stedman
Christine can best be described as one funny mother!   She has a husband, a twenty-something son who lives at home, a divorced daughter and three grand-kids. This  gives her a full portfolio of material to draw from.  A lot of people ask Chris why she began a career in comedy so late in life. Well, it’s not a coincidence that she started immediately after her daughter began having babies! Chris does not like to baby-sit! Sure, traveling around the country telling jokes to drunks in smoky nightclubs was not the most practical way to get out of baby-sitting, but she decided it was definitely worth a try. (It was either that, or go to truck-driving school and she hates the way she looks in flannel shirts! ) So far, this desperate attempt to distance herself from family obligations has worked out quite nicely. She’s come a long way from her early years in comedy.
She currently headlines in some of the top clubs in the country and has become a favorite at “The Comedy Stop” in Las Vegasand Atlantic City. In 2006, she was chosen to compete in Nick at Nite’s Search for the Funniest Mom inAmerica. She appeared in six episodes and made it all the way to the finale where it came down to only 5 finalists. Ok, she didn’t win—-but just ask anyone who has seen her perform and they will tell you that she is definitely one funny mother!

  • The Midnight Swinger
September 20, 2014 at 7:30 PM The Midnight Swinger

    The Midnight Swinger

Call him cocky, call him confident, but never call him dull. The Midnight Swinger erupts onto the stage like the volcano in front of the Mirage Hotel in a fresh and original, over the top event that has been called "sharp-witted," "clever" and "classy."

Putting the show back in showman, The Midnight Swinger combines the style and cool of a 60's Las Vegas performer with the flash and excitement of a 21st century Super Bowl halftime extravaganza.

More than just a stand-up comedian, the Midnight Swinger is proud to be called a throwback entertainer. That's right, an entertainer! The Swinger believes in more than just standing behind the microphone and telling jokes, and doing more than just a simple "comedy show." The Midnight Swinger puts on a spectacle that leaves the audience LAUGHIN', SINGIN' and SWINGIN'.

The Swinger always wears the sharpest threads no matter where he is performing, and stylin' and profilin' with an oversized pompadour. The Swinger will be the first to tell you, "Damn, I Look Good," his battle cry before, during and after every show.

The never subtle or soft spoken Midnight Swinger heats up the room as he puts on a classic Las Vegas style show filled with great comedy, music, singing and dancing. And when the show is over you will walkout with a smile on your face yelling DAMN, I LOOK GOOD
