Heywood Banks is simply one-of-a-kind, almost impossible to describe, with a style his very own. Equal parts genius and buffoon, this songwriter-comic-singer-poet-musician has become a cult hero and a pop icon, with a show that appeals to college students, stoners, businessmen, yuppies, rednecks, punks, kids or your grandmother.
Heywood intersperses his humorous observations of life with twisted, inventive, bizarre songs, sung and played in a variety of styles, from folk, to country to rock to pop, and way beyond.
You have to be pretty smart to get Heywood at his deepest level (he demands a high level of pop culture literacy), but you can also enjoy him just for his vocal style impersonations, expert musicianship and just plain silliness. But why trust our opinions? Click here and see for yourself.
Heywood has been featured in "Rolling Stone Magazine" and "People Magazine." He won First Place in the Johnnie Walker Comedy Search Contest.
Heywood Banks has appeared on A&E's "Evening at the Improv," MTV's "1/2 Hour Comedy Hour," CNN's "Hollywood Minute," "Caroline's Comedy Hour," "Entertainment Tonight," "Showtime Comedy Club Network," "Dr. Demento Show," "12th Annual HBO Young Comedians Special with Paul Rodriguez" and is a frequent guest on the national Bob and Tom radio show.
Stuart Mitchell, the creator of Heywood Banks, tells us that his character was born on a mountaintop in Tennessee and lived for many many years in a log trailer. Heywood's biological parents, Hank and Heyena Banks were killed in a freak revolving restaurant accident back in the sixties - someone had hit the Puree Button by mistake...grisly! Eventually raised by mathematical parents, Heywood was working in a Kroger bagging groceries when he was hit in the head with a can of lunchmeat, giving him spamnesia. This caused him problems for years as he became afraid of the dark, but couldn't sleep with the light on. "Did that ever happen to you???"

  • J.R. Brow
    December 04, 2015 at 7:30 PM J.R. Brow

J.R. Brow went to college, became a standup comic, and eventually toured 49 states and 4 continents with his guitar in hand.  His original standup comedy instantly won over young and old fans alike.  Almost immediately, J.R. marched to the finals of the San Francisco Comedy Competition.  He has opened for performers like Dana Carvey, Ray Romano, Bill Hicks, and Steven Wright. He's recently been featured on Comedy Central's "Live at Gotham" and CBS’s "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" as well as many other television spots along the way.

Like the rarest of breeds, J.R. electrifies audiences with his high energy storytelling and spot-on mimicry.  When his guitar comes into the act, the originality peaks with his unique musical prowess.  Brow's comedy can be heard on his current CD, "Dumber By The Decade" and read in his upcoming memoir, "The Ancient Greeks Had Nothing On Me."

J.R. lives in Austin, travels forty-plus weeks a year, and is constantly writing new bits.  In his free time, he collects Japanese guitars and rare vinyl records.

  • Nathan Timmel
December 11, 2015 at 7:30 PM Nathan Timmel

Nathan Timmel is a 15-year comedy veteran who has headlined comedy clubs across the country, recorded several comedy CDs (with regular airplay on Sirius/XM), visited the Bob & Tom Show three times, and been overseas to perform for American troops nine times—including stops in Iraq and Afghanistan.

With a set that’s well-crafted, clever, and genuine, Nathan’s act is a mix of high-brow thinkers and accessible straight-ahead jokes. He keeps audiences on their toes, transitioning seamlessly from loving husband and father to gritty analyst of politics and human nature. He finds humor in everything, from making babies to overcrowded prisons, creating comedy that’s intelligent, fun, and engaging with a sprinkling of raucousness.  A talented storyteller, he builds on real-life anecdotes that draw you in before hitting you with the punch line you didn’t see coming. He’s not afraid of using his own life, from his oddball father to his diva toddler, to get you laughing. By the end of his set, he’ll leave you wanting more jokes (and his Twitter handle).

  • Pete George
December 18, 2015 at 7:30 PM Pete George

When Comedian Pete George begins his stand up act, this quirky, nervous, mild-mannered man with spectacles suddenly becomes a spectacle.

Audiences have never seen anything like an exhaustingly funny Pete George performance. As he pinballs through his act, he leaves them laughing so hard they can barely catch their breath. His stage antics take us on a journey that includes hard hitting jokes, life stories, cartoon voices and even… yes, Rock and Roll. Mark Stuplin at E! Entertainment Television says, “Pete George is Spastically Funny!” and according to Las Vegas booker Kevin Kearney, “Pete George, in a word...Hilarious! He really is the complete comedy package that you simply must see to believe.”

Perhaps this energizer bunny began developing his off-centered and out-of-step approach to life when he was teased as a child, mistakenly labeled learning disabled and placed in special classes. Just minutes into Pete’s act he leads us to believe that maybe it wasn’t a mistake after all.

Pete got his start in show business as a lead guitarist in a Cleveland based 80’s rock group. “We wanted to be like the band A Flock of Seagulls, so we called ourselves A Peck of Peckers.” Discovering that being funny was his calling, Pete ventured into comedy competitions and a quick string of wins set off a 20-year career that has included over 7,000 shows at a multitude of venues and corporate events, touring the world, headlining comedy clubs, cruise ships, colleges, military shows and special events. “One time I even opened for the Australian Male Stripper Show Thunder From Down Under”, George remembers… “I thought it was a seminar on Irritable Bowel Syndrome.”

No slouch as an actor, Pete has appeared in several major motions pictures, including The Shawshank Redemption and The Majestic as well as appearances on Family Law, Strong Medicine, Night Shift, Comedy at Club 54, Now That’s Comedy and several national commercials.

Music is an integral part of George’s act and he is an accomplished musician. He likes to call himself the “Rock Star of Comedy” but one look at him and we see that he’s anything but…. Stay tuned for an upcoming television show in development based on Pete’s crazy life and be sure to catch his hilarious comedy CD, Comedy You Can Dance To.

  • The DougT Hypnosis Show
December 31, 2015 at 7:00 PM The DougT Hypnosis Show
After touring as a standup comic for years Doug wanted a new way to create a better show and entertain more people. That is when he started studying hypnosis and all different types of ways to hypnotize people.   Doug wanted to take Comedy Hypnosis to the next level by creating a show that is different from all of the rest. He adds in his quick wit and spot on impressions to make the show fun from beginning to end. His comedy background is a large part of this ability. He has toured and still tours with some of the big names in comedy. Some of the names include Pauly Shore, The Impractical Jokers from TruTV, Jennifer Coolidge (Stifler's Mom), Tim Wilson, Greg Hahn, MIke MacRae, and many more.....

Working in some of the greatest theaters around the country has put him in front of thousands of people.  He also keeps his shows family friendly due to the large amount of Corporate events and Colleges he works with. When asked about if volunteers on his show should be worried about coming on stage his response was simply " I treat the volunteers on stage the way I would want my wife and daughters treated, with respect and dignity! "  That is why Doug has become one of the most requested in the nation for Corporate events, Colleges and High Schools.  ESPN selected him to be a Bowl Game entertainer for teams at the Compass Bowl in Birmingham, AL.  Finding a way to make people forget about the stresses of life and laugh through his 75 to 90 minute show is what DougT lives for......
