Joe is a half-Cuban half-Irish (or Cubish) comedian and actor.  Growing up in Texas he had an affinity for the sport of baseball and dreamed of one day playing for the Houston Astros. When his body didn’t grow up with his dreams, he moved to the performing arts where muscles aren’t necessary.

Joe went to Marquette University where he received the Chris Farley Scholarship for his creativity and positive use of humor. While there he performed in numerous plays, including "Quid Pro Quo" which went on to be performed at the Kennedy Center as part of the American College Theatre Festival.

Since moving to Chicago, he has been a member of improv teams at iO and the Playground theater, but his primary focus has been stand-up comedy. Over the past 10 years he’s taken his off-stage persona of intolerable presence and morphed it into his on-stage persona of lovable jerk.  He satirizes through absurdity and is facetious to a fault.

He has performed in numerous comedy festivals such as Chicago TBS Just For Laughs Fest, the Boston Comedy Fest, the Memphis Comedy fest, Chicago Sketchfest and he was a finalist for the Andy Kaufman Award.

Has he also appeared in a Cracker Barrel commercial and an episode of Chicago Med where he improvised yelling at Oliver Platt? Yes he has.

Anyhow if you're not in the same area as Joe, you can always hear him on his podcast 30 Characters and follow his consistent campaign for office as Masturbation Jenkins, a murderous hobo who constantly is running for whatever public office is vacant. @mj4gov on twitter.

  • Michael Winslow
October 10, 2020 at 8:00 PM Michael Winslow
Michael Winslow had his first television appearance on The Gong Show in which he squeezed in sound-a likes of Benji the movie dog, Star Trek, and Jimi Hendrix’s “Purple Haze”. Winslow, who was born on September 6, 1958 in Spokane, Washington, played the role of the Radar Operator, who was in charge of the radar and could imitate realistic sounds using his own voice. He is best known for his role as Sgt. Larvelle “Motor Mouth” Jones in the Police Academy series of movies and TV shows. In 1985, Island released a 12″ of Michael Winslow titled “I Am My Own Walkman”. He also appeared as a radar operator in the movie Spaceballs, in which he performs all the sound effects during his scene himself. Mel Brooks (who wrote, directed, produced, and co-starred in the film), stated that by doing so, Winslow saved the film money. Winslow is also a motivational speaker. Since the fall of 2008, Winslow has hosted the motion picture television series called “Way Back Wednesday with Winslow” on the cable super station WGN America, which features movies mostly released in the 1980s. Michael continues to perform stand-up comedy around the globe.
